- The letter "G" is for God and Growth-Groups-Gifts, oh, and Green.
- The arrow is pointing to God, up and to the right!
- The arrow indicates a change in direction, like repentance, a turning. The arrow was headed away from God and his ways. The arrow went through a transition and is now pointing to God and bent on following his ways.
- Both non-believers as well as believers need there hearts turned toward God. Non-believers need to turn to Christ for salvation, placing their faith in him. Believers also need to turn toward God daily and moment by moment, placing their faith in him as they become more and more like Jesus. This is not to be confused with a "sustaining one's salvation." This is trusting God to sort things out or to straighten me out. Trusting God to supply needs, to carry us through difficult times, to answer prayers, to be the holy, righteous sovereign, wise, loving, faithful God he is.
Growing in godliness
A Bible. Time in the Word is one of the best ways of developing our friendship with God. Growing in godliness requires knowing all we can of the Bible - thinking our way through each book and section and even chapters. As a symbol of the first G, it reminds us of prayer, spiritual disciplines and growing in theology. We get better acquainted with God by spending more time with God, taking him with us to more places, doing more things with him, and introducing him to our friends.
Developing friendships
A cup of coffee. Friends often spend time together around coffee. Developing friendships takes time, sharing and doing the stuff of life together.
Gifted to Serve together
Puzzle piece. Each follower of Christ is designed to fit with others to accomplish the Mission of turning hearts toward God. Each brings a unique set of assets, which if missing, leaves a black spot in the image.
